[Isolate-interest] StreamBindings API question

Apologies if this has already been asked (I didn't see it though).

I am curious why StreamBindings takes FileIn/OutputStreams?  Should any
old In/OutputStream be ok?

Also should passing null clear/reset to default the value of in/out/err?

Otherwise the API looks quite good. I assume some thought was given to
associate this with 'Resource Management?'
