Yes. A program can spawn any number of isolates (subject to resource
available to that program of course, and security policy in place).
Now, I'm not sure what you mean by "remaining a subcomponent of the
server itself". The server will have the sole control of the isolates it
spawns, unless it communicates to their reference to other isolate, via
a link.
